Half-day Poetry workshop – beginning with the basic three-line haiku, participants learn how to build amazing poems through effective word choice, structure, sounds, image, and metaphor. Learn the skills and techniques and release the inner poet. At the end of the workshop, you’ll have a more complete understanding of why some poems “work” and others don’t, and armed with your new bag of tricks, you’ll begin writing poems like you’ve never written before.

What to bring: Please bring with you something to write on (tablet, iPad, laptop, notepad, etc), any poems or poem ideas you may have written in the past, and your enthusiasm!

David Hamilton is a former public servant and currently teaches writing workshops. He is the author of several non-fiction books and editor of several fiction anthologies, and has authored his first novel, The Crying of Ross 128.
