Where the Wild Things Are

Crafts
Supplies:
- Large paper plate
- Paint
- Construction paper
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Glue
Instructions:
- Cut the Large paper plate in half
- Paint large paper plate and let dry
- Cut a strip of paper about 4 inches long
- Attach long strip in the middle of the flat side of the boat
- Trace your hand on a piece of construction paper (This will be your Flag!)
- Glue the your hand print to the top of long strip
Supplies:
- Colorful socks
- Scissors
- Thread
- Googly eye with shank
- Embroidery floss
- Needle
- Polyfill (Stuffing)
Instructions:
- Cut the sock in half. Aim for right above the heel to keep a straight edge.
- Sew on the eye with the thread; and the mouth with the embroidery floss. Note: If your stitching is uneven, it makes the monsters look more scary.
- Cut from the piece of sock you aren’t using for your monster (or another kind of fabric ) to make hair/horns, etc. Fold the cut edge of the sock inward 1/4″ and sandwich the horns/hair between the opening. Double your thread and hand-stitch across the top.
- Fill your Sock Monster with polyfill, and tie the bottom shut with embroidery floss.

The Book Nook
The Book Nook has an eclectic assortment of gently-loved books. Adult Books are $5 each, Children and Ado books are $2 each. There are also some jigsaw puzzles for family fun.
Our small bookshop is an ongoing, successful fundraiser for your local library. There are an eclectic bilingual selection of fiction and non-fiction for all ages. Open during library hours.
We are now only accepting donated books in very good condition published since 2010. No textbooks or magazines please.
